Jan Lukasiewicz, in his “Farewell Lecture” as Rector of Warsaw University, announced the work on three-valued logic that he had worked out the summer before. His parenthesis-free notation was discovered in 1924 and first used in print in 1929. Today his “Reverse Polish Notation” is widely used.
